AIP Press Statement and Tribute – AIP mourns the passing of veteran AIP publisher, Aaron Maleke – 31 Oct 2024
The Association of Independent Publishers (AIP) mourns the passing of veteran North West publisher, Aaron Maleke. Maleke was a board member of the AIP. He was the founding publisher of Mmegadikgang newspaper in North West. He was a brilliant businessman. He started out in printing calendars, desk pads and other office paraphernalia and then later pursued his career in publishing. He had a gift for sourcing advertising and was an excellent distribution strategist. His newspaper was the envy of many publishers due to his ongoing financial successes. At the time of his passing, he was looking at ways to further expand his distribution footprint and increase his circulation. Fellow veteran publisher, Thabo Mooke, who was working with him on his expansion plans, laments, “Now all his dreams are like a mirage… Death creeps into our lives at the least expected moments and robs us of friends and colleagues.”
