Our Work

AIP’s key projects focus on strengthening the independent media sector through training and capacity building, research and information sharing on the state and needs of the sector, and advocacy and policy engagements to ensure an enabling environment for independent and community media organisations.

Trainings

We collaborate with industry bodies, NGOs and Universities to provide skills through physical and online workshops, that support the AIP in its advocacy and lobbying work.

Sustainability Projects

AIP has been working closely with SANEF to strengthen publishers’ sustainability in the online environment. SANEF has put out a tender to get technical assistance to support publishers to go online. Please find a link to the tender document.

Resources

Over the years the AIP has gathered a number of resources that we believe are useful to our members. These include research reports and practical reporting manuals. Please find a link to our resources.

Litigation

AIP is involved in legal action to try and ensure that our members get access to funds in the Economic Development Fund (EDF) that was set up by the Media Development and Diversity Agency (MDDA) and Competition Commission to support publishers faced by unfair competition. Please see a link to our litigation documents.
