The Association of Independent Publishers (AIP) is proud to mark 20 years of unwavering commitment to South Africa’s small, independent publishers. Over two decades, AIP has stood firmly with community-rooted newsrooms across the country, championing their rights, strengthening their voices and advocating for a more equitable media landscape.

Our 20th Anniversary Dinner, held in Johannesburg on 13 November, honoured this remarkable journey of resilience, struggle and survival. It also celebrated the ingenuity and innovation that continue to shape the sector as publishers adapt, experiment and lead in an evolving media environment.
