Death Announcement of AIP board member.
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our board member, Ms. Masindi Octavia Mkhize.
Masindi was the founder and publisher of Ezakwazulu news a bi-monthly community newspaper which since 2010 has been the sole IsiZulu medium distributed in the Kwadedangendlane and Outer West communities in Kwazulu Natal.
Masindi’s passion was to see the growth of community print media, by remaining the best voice and source of communication for the community. She dedicated her life to the sector since 1995, and she was part of the student’s team that established a community newspaper in the Valley of 1000 hills.
She matriculated in 1996 at Khabazela High school, and obtained a Diploma in Journalism from Peninsula Technikon now called Cape Peninsula University of Technology in 1999.
In 2000 she was a finalist in the cosmopolitan Movers and Shakers contest.
Masindi, was a very sociable, adventurous and a principled Zulu woman with a big heart.
She is survived by her three daughters.
We will dearly miss you as the association.
