Rustenburg, 01 June 2024 – Today marks the opening of nominations for the highly anticipated North West Media Awards, inviting community members and media practitioners to nominate outstanding individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to the media landscape in the North West region.
The North West Media Awards recognize excellence across a spectrum of categories that highlight integrity, innovation, and impact in media. From outstanding journalism to compelling visual storytelling, the awards aim to honor those who inform, inspire, and engage our communities.
Categories Open for Nominations Include:
1. Journalist of the Year: Recognizing exemplary integrity and impact in journalism.
2. Photographer of the Year: Celebrating excellence in visual storytelling.
3. Newspaper of the Year: Honoring publications that inform and inspire.
4. Newsletter of the Year: Acknowledging excellence in digital communication.
5. Radio Current Affairs Programme of the Year: Highlighting excellence in broadcasting current events.
6. Communicator of the Year: Awarded to those effectively conveying complex ideas to the public.
7. Poloko Tau Investigative News Story of the Year: Recognizing groundbreaking investigative journalism.
8. Newsreader of the Year: Recognizing clarity and engagement in news delivery.
9. Radio Programme of the Year: Celebrating outstanding radio programming.
10. Radio Producer of the Year: Acknowledging creativity behind-the-scenes.
11. Radio Presenter of the Year: Honoring charismatic and informative radio hosts.
12. Sports Presenter of the Year: Highlighting excellence in sports broadcasting.
13. Community Radio Station of the Year: Celebrating stations dedicated to local engagement.
14. Social Media Platform of the Year: Recognizing impactful online presence.
15. Online Media House of the Year: Awarding excellence in digital media production.
16. Social Media Influencer of the Year: Honoring social media influencers who uplift communities through their content.
