AIP welcomes the message from Shiraz Mohammed confirming his safe return in the country
Photojournalist and publisher of Ennerdale Sun, Shiraz Mohamed’s return has been confirmed through a video that was shared by his family on Sunday.
Shiraz was abducted in Syria at the beginning of 2017 on a project with Gift of the Givers. Him and his family thanked president Ramaphosa and everyone who stood by them during the trying times.
The association of independent publishers, is grateful for his safe return and hoping to continue working with him once he has regained his strength. As the Association we also respect his wishes not to be in the spotlight until such a time that he is ready to address the media.
We wish for him a speedy recovery and hope that his right to privacy will be respected by all media houses in the country.
