ANNOUNCEMENT

It is with a sad and heavy heart that the AIP announces the passing of a dear colleague, friend and veteran publisher, Sisi Octavia Elsie Hlungwani (Ngondo). She was the publisher of Phofulo Golden Highway Voice.

Sisi Octavia passed away on Wednesday, the 10th of January 2024 at home in Ennerdale, Johannesburg after a short illness.

We will remember her for being a fearless community print media activist, a dedicated publisher and tireless AIP board member representing Gauteng.

Sisi Octavia was a larger than life person. She was a whirlwind of energy and purpose. Sisi Octavia was someone who could get things done. She spoke her mind but coupled this with a deep warmth and kindness.
